Someone Talked is the third record by Uli Kempendorff‘s FIELD and the first in the new line-up with Christopher Dell on vibraphone, Peter Bruun on drums and Jonas Westergaard on double bass. The band has been playing concerts in this formation since 2018 and has found a common language characterized by sensitivity and strength during this time.

With the newcomers Dell and Bruun, a changed tonal profile and a new sensitivity developed at Field, which also opened up new possibilities for Kempendorff: "For me, the attraction of our interaction lies in the hyper-awake state in which we try to follow each other - sometimes like a game of cat and mouse, sometimes like walking side by side. This includes the abundance of tone and sound information, especially from the vibraphone. For me it is something positively overwhelming, an offer of different simultaneous listening paths through the music. "

All four instruments were played without amplification, so that each member of the quartet had control over the dynamic range of their sound source. The “blend” of the four was being negotiated directly at the moment and the shades were fine-tuned, which enabled Kempendorff to integrate his own sound more consciously and spatially into the band. This transparency enables a quick rapport between the musicians. Different simultaneous narrative strands in the music and rapidly changing references and roles always remain comprehensible
